Victims of Crime Assistance

Victims of Crime Assistance, is an outpatient, mental health service specifically designed to help child victims of crime.  VOCA upholds the rights of “equality, protection and justice for all” by providing child victims of crime with support, referrals and services when they need it most.  These specific services are offered free of charge and are funded by the State of Connecticut, Office of Victim’s Services.

Who we serve:

  • Children ages birth to 18 years old who are victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence or are related to a homicide victim
  • Parents of child victims
  • Siblings of child victims

How the program works:

  • We accept referrals made by community and social service agencies, Department of Children and Families, doctors, school personnel or parents.
  • There is no charge for these services.
  • Masters level clinicians provide therapeutic treatment to help children deal with the emotional aftermath of crime.
  • Victims receive assistance accessing information or compensation for costs through the Office of Victim Services.
