Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services provides emergency help to children, adolescents and families in crisis 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The people we serve: 

  • Children, birth to 18 years
  • Their parents
  • Their family

How the program works: 

  • Referrals are accepted from parents/guardians, schools, social workers, Department of Children and Families staff, Law enforcement officers, clergy, psychologists, physicians, shelters, community agencies, counselors and support groups.
  • Trained professional staff are available 24/7.  Mobile intervention operates Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and Holidays from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Services include telephone counseling, crisis and suicide intervention, information and referral.
  • Crisis and Intervention services help in cases of: 
  • Suicide statement

  • Depression

  • Threat of violence

  • Psychiatric crises and emotional distress

  • Loss of control and anger

  • Thought disturbance, behavior changes and anxiety

  • Traumatic experiences

  • Self-inflicted injury
